Why Pordrän?
A home's worst enemy is moisture
One of the biggest threats to a house is moisture. It can cause unpleasant odors that linger in clothing and furnishings, serve as a breeding ground for mold and other microorganisms that cause illness, and, over time, cause wood and other organic materials to break down and lose their structural integrity. An early sign of moisture problems inbasementsis when paint and plaster begin to peel. Even older or improperly constructed crawl spacesorslab-on-ground foundations can also exhibit moisture problems, where Pordrän is Pordrän a good solution.
Another area where Pordrän a solution involvessports surfaces such as golf greens, soccer fields, and more. By using Pordrän a heat-insulating and draining system in the ground, frost damage can be reduced, the growing season extended, and the sports surface effectively drained.
Farmhouse floors, green roofs, and rooftop terraces are another area where Pordrän is used. These structures do not dry out because they are equipped with a waterproof membrane. However, Pordrän’s excellent thermal insulation and drainage properties come in handy.
Other applications include retaining walls, stairs, and more. In these cases, Pordrän serves Pordrän frost protection and drainage. The advantage is that walls experience less efflorescence and have a smoother, more attractive surface. Stairs are less slippery in the winter. Pordrän , of course, Pordrän used under garden paths, garage driveways, patios, and more.
Drainage-integrated thermal insulation with Pordrän
To protect the house from moisture, we must work with nature’s inherent forces and laws—the interaction between hot and cold. With drainage-integrated thermal insulation from Pordrän , you also Pordrän reduced resource use and lower energy consumption. Sustainability on every level—economic, ecological, and social—with healthy homes that pose a lower risk of allergies.
So what is moisture?
Moisture is simply water that can exist in liquid form—known as the liquid phase—and invisibly in the air in the vapor phase. Warm air can hold significantly more moisture than cold air. You can notice this in the winter when the air feels dry.
When warm air comes into contact with cold surfaces, moisture condenses into water droplets. For example, if you leave a glass of cold water outside on a summer day, water droplets will form on the outside of the glass.
The same effect can occur in a crawl space, where warm air is drawn into the cold space beneath the foundation in the summer and condenses into water droplets. Uninsulated basements also have the same problem. Where heat and cold meet, harmful moisture forms, which can occur inside the wall. With Pordrän , the dew point Pordrän away from the wall and can be drained away.
Always address the issue immediately – to prevent moisture damage and allergies
If you detect moisture problems early on, it’s best to address them immediately to prevent the damage from becoming more extensive and costly to repair, and to ensure that moisture and mold haven’t had time to cause allergies or other health issues.
The solution to moisture problems is called Pordrän
Pordrän protects against moisture from all directions: ground moisture from below in foundations, surface water, and moisture from the sides of basement walls, as well as drainage from above on, for example, green roofs and roof terraces. Pordrän simply Pordrän 360-degree protection. This is made possible by the four built-in properties of the Pordrän panel:
Drying
The open structure of the porous board, with approximately 35% pore volume, allows moisture to migrate outward, resulting in drier floors and walls and a healthier indoor climate.
Draining
Pordrän a high drainage capacity, which largely eliminates the need for costly, environmentally harmful, and time-consuming drainage using gravel.
Surfactant
The floor drain prevents water from rising and damaging the structure.
Thermal insulation
Pordrän excellent thermal insulation properties and retains them over time, even in damp environments.
Applications of Pordräns
The Pordrän board has many applications thanks to its natural properties—moisture-wicking, draining, capillary-breaking, and heat-insulating. Pordrän therefore an excellent product for basement walls and floors, crawl spaces,ground-level slabs, courtyard floors, roof terraces, and green roofs, as well as forground insulationundersports surfaces, retaining walls, and stairs, among other applications.
